Easy Access to Base Camp
at the Caja del Rio Headquarters Well
There's plenty of space in camp for large rigs. There are toilets, but no electric hookups and no dump station . There's lots of water for the horses, but please bring plenty of people water!
PLEASE respect the Santa Fe National Forest.

DIRECTIONS
To get to base camp, come to Santa Fe on I-25. Take Exit 276 to Hwy 599. Head North on 599 about 6 miles to South Meadows Rd./Exit 6. Upon exiting, follow sign at roundabout for South Meadows West, going up & over 599. At next roundabout, follow sign to Caja del Rio, which will take you to the left & onto the frontage road. Go 1.4 miles to Caja del Rio Rd. Turn right onto Caja del Rio Rd. Go 2.8 miles, passing the Santa Fe Animal Shelter on the right, Caja del Rio Landfill & Game and Fish on the left, and Marty Sanchez Golf Course on the left, to W. Caja Del Oro Grant Rd. & turn left. This is also CR 62. This is a good, two-lane gravel road. Go 1.2 miles - will cross a cattle guard. Turn left immediately after crossing cattle guard onto FR 24A & follow the gravel road a short distance to Headquarters Well Base Camp on the right. This is an all-weather route & is suitable for big rigs.
